The Art Institute of Las Vegas

Designers Statement
My idea for this poster came from being born and raised in Las Vegas.  Driving down the strip at night catches your eye with all the lights and colors, which makes Las Vegas a very artistic city.  Although the concept of decorating and designing buildings is more architecture then graphic design, I feel this design shows an artist’s dream.  His dream, seeing a plain street and building wall and wanting more vibrancy out of it, shows that person’s desire to make it more artsy and colorful.  I’ve been interested in graphic design since I was little.  It started with taking cartoon pictures and making wallpapers for my computer to filling my four-year high school schedule with at least one computer graphics class every year, finishing off my senior year with two 3D classes.  I know graphic design is what I want to do with my life; its fun, challenging, and creative, which are the three basic ingredients needed to be in a career that is both fulfilling, and something that you want to wake up every day and do.
