When Martha Galvin was in high school, she knew she wanted to be a designer. She chose California Design College for several reasons: the guidance and attention she received during her enrollment process, the professionalism of the college, the experienced instructors, and the variety of programs offered. California Design College’s programs also emphasized the technical knowledge she knew she would need to enter the industry.

Within a year, Martha graduated with honors with a certificate in fashion design and had obtained a position as a CAD Pattern Grader with St. John Knits, a well-known knit clothing manufacturer.

Martha said that her fashion computer courses at California Design College effectively prepared her for her current position and provided her the ability to operate a variety of apparel software with confidence. She felt that it was an easy transition to go from her classroom to her professional environment.

Martha’s advice for students either attending or considering California Design College, “Pay attention and take advantage of the instructors’ industry experience because they really do know the fashion business.”
