Manuel Avila, 2000 California Design College Graduate
From a young age, Manuel Avila discovered that drawing and painting were his passions. As a child he painted murals and spent his summers at art camps. He started creating silk screens for T-shirts during his second year at California Institute of Arts, and it was then he realized the strong desire to become a designer. Manuel selected California Design College for its technical classes, short programs and advanced computer-aided design program.
California Design College Career Services assisted Manuel in obtaining employment as a Graphic Designer at BJD, a men's casual sportswear company. Manuel enjoyed his California Design College experience and was very happy that the Career Services Department met his high expectations. He also complimented the computer instructors, especially Shideh Shirdel. Manuel said “Both the Career Services Department and Ms. Shirdel are able to adjust to people's different skill levels and meet everyone's needs."
