Students come to The Art Institutes from the U.S. and abroad. This multi-cultural student body includes men and women who have enrolled directly after completing high school, have transferred from other post-secondary schools, or are deciding on a new career.
Appropriate Attire
Students are requested to dress in the manner appropriate for their profession while attending The Art Institutes International - Kansas City.
Smoking Policy
The Art Institutes International - Kansas City provides a smoke-free environment, and all faculty and staff strictly enforce this restriction. Smoking is permitted in the outside designated area/s only. Smoking is not permitted outside the main entrance areas, and it is not permitted anywhere inside the buildings.
Student Conduct
Students at The Art Institutes International - Kansas City are generally men and women who are preparing for career employment. An integral part of their career and professional development is the expectation that they will conduct themselves during the educational processes in the same manner as will be expected in an employment situation.
The Art Institutes International - Kansas City reserves the right to suspend or terminate any student whose conduct is detrimental to the training environment within the classrooms; to the well-being of fellow students and/or faculty and staff members within The Art Institutes International - Kansas City; at any school sponsored activity or facility; or who causes damage to the appearance or structure of The Art Institutes International - Kansas City facilities and/or equipment therein; or who copies or otherwise plagiarizes the artwork or assignments/projects of other students or professionals; or who otherwise displays conduct detrimental to his or her own academic progress or ultimate success in the field for which he or she is being educated. Students are encouraged to refer to the Student Handbook for the complete Student Code of Conduct Policy.
The Art Institutes International - Kansas City informs all students, through the Student Handbook, of the detailed requirements of the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act Amendments of 1989, Public Law 101-226, and what The Art Institutes International - Kansas City requires of all staff and students.
Employees and students are prohibited from the unlawful manufacture, distribution, possession, or use of illicit drugs or alcohol. This prohibition applies while on the property of the school, or parking facilities, or when participating in any institutional activity. Students or employees who violate this policy will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including expulsion from school or termination of employment. The Art Institutes International - Kansas City will make a good faith effort to maintain a drug-free and alcohol-free school and workplace through implementation of the above policy, and has established a drug and alcohol awareness program.
