Applicants to The Illinois Institute of Art — Schaumburg must demonstrate proof of high school graduation or its equivalent in order to receive final acceptance. An official copy of your high school transcript or GED transcript is required.

You will also be interviewed, either in person or by telephone, to explore your background and related interests in correlation with the program offerings. In addition, you must write an essay, approximately 300 words in length, on how you expect your education at The Illinois Institute of Art — Schaumburg to help you attain your career goals.

Each applicant's academic transcript and completed essay will be evaluated by the Admissions Acceptance Committee. The committee determines the compatibility of the applicant with the programs at The Illinois Institute of Art — Schaumburg and ultimately makes the final decision regarding acceptance to The Illinois Institute of Art — Schaumburg.

The committee reserves the right to request additional records of accomplishments in core academic courses and/or the results of any nationally-based exam such as the SAT or ACT prior to making this decision.

A separate application and enrollment form must be completed and signed by the applicant, as well as parent or guardian (if applicant is a minor). It must then be submitted to The Illinois Institute of Art — Schaumburg.

Although a visit to The Illinois Institute of Art — Schaumburg is not a requirement for submitting an application form and enrollment agreement for acceptance, prospective students are encouraged to schedule an interview with one of our admissions representatives to discuss special needs, long-term or short-term goals, and lifelong career aspirations.
