Art Institute Instructor Creates "Thriller" Tribute
Back
Art Institute of Seattle Instructor Amy Williams and her Acting and Movement Class delighted onlookers on the afternoon of September 23, 2009, with their interpretation of Michael Jackson’s classic, “Thriller,” complete with zombie makeup and costumes.
Amy’s class gathered under Seattle’s Space Needle to perform the well-known dance number – and treated the gathering crowd to an outstanding and hilarious display of dancing prowess. Students went above and beyond the call, creating zombie costumes and effects to lend a touch of realism to the occasion, and instructor Amy Williams even got into the act, leading the students as the sultry, “Zombie in Red.”
The Acting and Movement class at The Art Institute of Seattle is an introduction to acting as a tool of research through studies of animated movement. Characters’ personalities, expressions, motivations, body language, and posture are studied through classroom exercises in a variety of media.
