Congratulations to Art Institute of Seattle student Volya Dzemka  – winner of the 2009 Glazer’s Scholarship!

The $1,000 prize is awarded 2 times each year, and students must achieve a minimum 3.5 GPA and complete 60 credit hours to be eligible. Volya was selected by a vote of the faculty to receive this year’s top prize.

Volya participated in Student Studio in 2008, and plans to use the prize money to update her equipment, and enhance the array of photographic techniques and skills she’s been developing at The Art Institute of Seattle.

For more than 10 years, Glazer's Camera has been awarding a $1,000 prize to a top photography student, as voted on by Photography Department faculty from The Art Institute of Seattle. Don Schaab, Academic Director of the Photography Department at The Art Institute of Seattle calls the partnership with Glazer's, “an important one,” and adds, “their expertise and dedication to the industry makes them a valuable resource for both the professional and student photographer.”

Glazer's Camera has been the Northwest's premier source for professional photography equipment and supplies since 1935. They are a third generation locally owned full-line camera store with a strong commitment to stock everything the working professional or serious amateur needs to properly pursue his or her craft, including an excellent repair department.

Congratulations Volya!
