Job Title: Graphic Designer
2002 Graduate, Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design, The Miami International University of Art & Design
As a graphic designer for Gannet Fleming, Alejandro R. Cuadra is responsible for producing graphic concepts for reports and presentations. He enjoys the creative process and states that his job allows him to always work on something new and inspiring.
Alejandro, who in 2002 earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from The Miami International University of Art & Design, asserts that he incorporates abstract ideas of feeling into his work. His professional achievements include designing the '”Fiery Gator” (2010) for Sawgrass Mills’ 20th anniversary celebration, “Gator Glam.” He states that, “the exhibition consisted of several 7 foot tall fiberglass alligators (created) by South Florida artists.” The event raised funds for The Art and Culture Center of Hollywood and the alligators are now permanently displayed at Saw Grass Mills. In 2011, Alejandro also received recognition from the International Mall for the "Latin Flavor" poster he created to celebrate the 7th Annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration.
Alejandro explains that his education at The Miami International University of Art & Design helped to prepare him for his graphic design career. “My education gave me the tools and skills to use my creative force; especially the use of computers,” he states. As his profession evolves, Alejandro believes that street art will become more like gallery art. He also envisions digital art becoming “the medium and a complement to traditional art mediums.”
