Class of 2011
Design
The Art Institute of Jacksonville
Employer: Traditions in Tile and Stone
Job Title: Sales Associate

2011 Graduate, Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design, The Art Institute of Jacksonville

Andrea Garrett is using her interior design knowledge as an employee for Traditions in Tile and Stone, a Jacksonville company. There, she helps customers to choose tile and stone for their home decorating projects. Andrea admits that before earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design degree from The Art Institute of Jacksonville, she knew very little about what it meant to be an interior designer. Now, just a few months after graduating, she believes that she is on the path to making an impact in the interior design industry. “I now have everything thing I need to be as successful as I want to be.”

Her creative inspirations include historic buildings and she adds that her love of history also influenced what her favorite class was in school—The History of Furniture and Architecture.

Looking to the future of interior design, Andrea believes that the green movement will continue to be very influential. “(Design will) definitely be continuing with green design and products, but making it more available and less costly,” she says.
