—Brandon Brocker

2010 Graduate, Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Digital Filmmaking & Video Production, The Art Institute of Tennessee—Nashville, a branch of The Art Institute of Atlanta

Brandon Brocker is a problem solver—a skill he believes is essential in his job as a freelance producer. He states that he needs to be knowledgeable in every department in order to offer assistance to his clients. Brandon says that producers don’t have a typical day. “You can guarantee there will be a break for lunch, but that’s about it.” A day in Brandon’s life might include creating photo boards, ordering meals, handling petty cash, or processing shipments.

He states that budding producers need to focus on creating a strong network to build word-of-mouth support in the industry. “I worked hard to get every interview and I spent weeks scouring job sites and revising cover letters.” His determination paid off and resulted in opportunities to work on films including The Avengers, as well as to work for the Tribeca Film Festival and the Travel Channel.

Brandon, who in 2010 earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Digital Filmmaking & Video Production from The Art Institute of Tennessee—Nashville, a branch of The Art Institute of Atlanta, states that his education helped to prepare him for the rigorous world of production. “By having such a well-rounded education, I felt prepared to handle any number of situations that have come my way.”
