2010 Graduate, Bachelor of Science, Graphic Design, The Art Institutes International Minnesota
When Clint Greene applied for his current position, he had no idea that the way he described his skills would make him the standout. He landed the job, he later found, "because I was the only one who represented myself as a print designer."
Now a designer for Hopkins/Baumann, he's working on spread layouts, gathering images, and localized editing for American Craft Magazine. "I handle the bulk of the image manipulation and file reformatting, as well as coordinating the ads that come in," he states. A member of a small team—only three designers work on the magazine—Clint has the opportunity work on a "pretty big chunk" of the design and layout.
Clint expresses that his job allows him to keep learning, "whether it's from something in the article or a design trick for directing the viewers' eyes." He advises current students to get involved in extracurricular activities, AIGA, and MIMA to forge a path in the industry. "Network your sock off. That's what it's all about."
