Job Title: Retail Development Administrator
"It is surprising to see how many people reappear in this industry. That is why it is so important not to burn any bridges."
—Elaine Lozmack

Creating her tomorrow.
Elaine chose the Fashion Marketing & Management program because it provided the real-world education and industry knowledge she was looking for. She believes that her education helped her to make a smooth transition into the working world. Now employed as a retail development administrator, Elaine oversees the retail specialist program, account development, and budgeting. She also files expenses, creates merchandising guides, and takes part in recruitment and training.

Reaching her career goals.
Making professional connections has helped Elaine to grow as a creative. “It is surprising to see how many people reappear in this industry.  That is why it is so important not to burn any bridges,” she says. Elaine emphasizes the need for networking, determination, and discipline to get ahead in the business.

It’s all about opportunities.
Elaine has made the most of all opportunities presented to her. She took part in an internship while still in school, and says it was a great experience that truly helped her to launch her career. “During this time I developed strong connections and relationships with others in the industry—in addition to gaining crucial knowledge and experience in the field,” she says of her internship. Elaine also encourages the use of career services to help with job placement and lead to new, challenging career opportunities.
