Jenna Collins had a plan to stand out in the competitive graphic design job market. She perfected her portfolio, personal identity, and leave behind materials—and the effort quickly paid off. She was hired as a graphic designer for SubZero Apparel and Design, a new printing company that uses sublimation (heat transfer) technology to create custom projects.
She works in a fast paced environment, collaborating one-on-one with clients to create effective design solutions. The challenge of helping the company grow is inspiring to Ashley. "I do everything from designing to pressing the apparel to taking and editing photos," she states.
Ashley is proud to have landed a job that forces her to imagine and innovate. "I love the amount of designing I get to do and the environment I work in," she adds. She recommends that current students network extensively and learn to represent themselves well in an interview. "Have reasoning behind every detail of your portfolio," she advises.
