Applying his education.
Already armed with a degree in fine arts drawing, Kort knew he needed to add to his creative skills in order to pursue a career in graphic design. He chose The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale because of the curriculum, courses, and teachers. “It gave me the skill set and experience I needed to find a good job in the graphic design field and the school also had reputation for job placement,” he says.

Finding inspiration in his craft.
Now working as the art director for satellite and cable TV provider PDI Communications, Kort is responsible for all of the company’s promotional & marketing material and web presence. He finds inspiration in the challenges of his daily design responsibilities and seeks to create artwork that is visually appealing while communicating a clear message. Kort’s newest project is designing a virtual trade show booth for the PDI-SAT division (skyforumsbca.com).

Looking ahead to tomorrow.
Throughout the years, Kort has received numerous industry-related awards for marketing campaigns and recognition. He’s created campaigns for DIRECTV^®, Samsung, Alcatel-Lucent, Thomson Electronics, and Marriott. And like most artists, Kort’s creative inspiration doesn’t stop when he leaves work. He’s also surrounded by creativity at home—he’s married to a fellow Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale graduate.
