—Mike York

What’s Mike doing today?
Mike is working as a character animator for Line of Acrion Cinema.

Creative inspiration
As a character animator, Mike is driven by the strong sense of bringing characters to life. He’s responsible for creating key poses and final breakdowns of motions and details for the company's main character. As a team member, Mike works with 3D Studio Max and Adobe Photoshop. He gains inspiration and influence from his art director.

Getting out there
While still attending The Art Institute of Colorado, Mike started an internship at Holy Solies Media. Before taking his portfolio and demo reel classes, Mike developed a short, one-minute demo reel of animations created in his free time. Novint Technologies took note of the demo reel and soon hired him. There, Mike worked on several animations for the PC game Newton's Monkey Business. He was offered a full-time position after graduation.
