Vivienne Pash (aka Marjorie Brown) is the owner and fashion designer for Vivienne Pash, LLC. She recently had her third runway show—a huge accomplishment. “There’s a lot of stress, but I enjoy it all, every bit of it. In the end, when things come together, it's such a great feeling to see my accomplishment. It comes alive, from sketch to finished product,” she states.
Influenced by 1960s fashion, Vivienne aims to capture that era’s sophisticated and elegant looks with an updated feel. She’s always been a budding fashion designer, adding that when she was a child, she made clothes for her dolls. “My mother's clothing designer used to give me fabric ends, and I sewed by hand new clothes for my doll. At eight years old, I knew I wanted to become a designer.” She followed her dream, graduating in 2007 from The Art Institute of New York City with an Associate in Applied Science in Fashion Design degree.
Vivienne believes that fashion is an industry that provides the opportunity for lifelong learning. She suggests that fashion students view their first day in class as “your first day in a fashion job. What you are doing in class is what you will be doing out in the world, in any professional field.” She adds that she’s noticed more women choosing to wear dresses. “Elegance is coming back to fashion,” she states.
