Late nights studying and laughing, study breaks, friendships and memories are all part of the overall college experience. Living in school-sponsored housing can enhance a student’s educational experience by creating networking opportunities, friendships and experiences that will last a lifetime.
The Department of Residential Life & Housing Services at The Art Institute of Washington is committed to providing students with a comfortable, convenient, affordable and community atmosphere, where students can prepare themselves for life after college. Only a short walk to the school, metro and bus services, school-sponsored housing allows the student a close proximity to internships, jobs and culture in the Washington, D.C. and Georgetown areas.
At The Art Institute of Washington we believe that school-sponsored housing is the first step in preparing students for life after college. Our students live in two bedroom apartments that are located in residential apartment communities. School-sponsored housing prepares students for life after college by giving them the opportunity to learn to live with roommates, and to manage their time, money, classes and jobs (as well as to learn to cook and clean for themselves).
Some of the benefits of school-sponsored housing are:
- Opportunities to meet other students and network
- Costs can be included in the student financial plan
- Close to public transportation
- Walking distance to the school
- Furnished apartments. (four twin beds, two dressers, couch and coffee table, two desks and a dining table and chairs.)
- Social and education programs for housing students
- Close proximity to D.C and Georgetown offer excellent opportunities for internships and part time jobs
