Gigacon: DC’s First Media Arts & Animation Convention
The Art Institute of Washington is sponsoring DC’s first Media Arts & Animation Convention Janaury 8th and 9th 2010 at The National Building Museum. This event will feature demos by over a dozon industry professionals including: Animator Brian Muelhaupt (Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Nickelodeon): layout art in animation. CGI artist Sue Jang (UVPHACTORY, freelancer for Bjork, Nike): introduction to Zbrush 3.1. Illustrator David Colman (Disney, Sony Pictures, Blue Sky Studios): shape exploration in character design. Computer graphic artist Ajit Memon (Pure, Digital Kitchen): tips and tricks of lighting in 3D. Animator Jesse Cowan (Abby’s Flying Fairy School for Sesame Street): 3D character animation. and panel discussions including artist alley with work for sale. Tickets are $10.00 at the door.
