About the Services
Counseling services are provided at no cost to all currently enrolled students at The Art Institute of Washington. All sessions are confidential , and typically last about one hour. Individual, couples, and group counseling sessions are available. Psychological testing is also available

About the Process
Walk-in appointments are welcome; however we encourage you to make a scheduled appointment to avoid a waiting period.

Students seek counseling for a variety of reasons, some of which include: adjustment and relationship problems, depression, drug and alcohol abuse, time management, study skills, family, and academicly related issues. There is no obligation to continue counseling after the initial assessment.

Hours of Operation:
Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm.
Evening hours are also available.

The Department of Counseling Services is led by licensed psychologist Rachel Barbenal-Fried, PsyD and staffed by psychology graduate students, Cynthia Rapenshek, Renné Mottenon, Susan Reeves and Kelly Hoffman.
