For digital photography workshops, students need their own digital camera (3.0 megapixels or better – 5.0 or 8.0, that allows the student to manually adjust the shutter speeds and apertures/f-stops), a 1 gig jump drive (for saving your work), and a tripod. At home, students need a computer, photo editing software such as Photoshop CS/CS3 (a free trial version can be downloaded for 30 days), and the camera USB cords to download their images into a computer. It is recommended that students have access to a color printer and a light meter capable of reading flash as well as ambient light.
