The Art Institute of Atlanta Welcomes International Students!
The Art Institute is proud to host students from around the world who have chosen to study here. More than eighty international students from more than thirty countries are currently part of the student body. A full-time international student advisor assists students with visas and other needs such as immigration procedures, housing, medical insurance, and campus resources.

Regular social activities help international students feel at home. Students find opportunities to take part in social activities with other international students as well as American students. International students find many opportunities to learn about American culture and, of equal importance, American students have much to gain by getting to know international students and the cultures they bring with them.

Countries Represented as of Fall 2004:
Argentina, Bahamas, Bermuda, Bulgaria, Bolivia, Bosnia, Brazil, Canada, Cayman Islands, China, Colombia, Cote d'Ivoire, Germany, Haiti, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Kenya, Liberia, Malaysia, Mexico, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Trinidad & Tobago, Turkey, United Kingdom, and Venezuela.

Admissions Requirements
The Art Institute of Atlanta welcomes students from abroad. All international applicants to The Art Institute of Atlanta must meet the same admissions standards as all other students, and must demonstrate competence in the English language. Find out more about International Admissions.

What International Students Say:
A View from Within: International Students Speak Out

"I found The Art Institute of Atlanta on the Internet and sent a pre-application. I never thought that this simple e-mail would change my whole life. Now I am one more of the Art Institute students. And I am happy, because this school is giving me the opportunity to develop my skills in a field I've always loved: graphic design."

- Andrea Vom Ende, Chile (Graphic Design, Winter 2004)

"One of the reasons for choosing The Art Institute for myself was because it really is a well-established school. My cousin went to this school and told me about it. The international advisors are so helpful, and always there to guide you through whatever you need!"

- Ruchi Shah, India (Multimedia & Web Design, Spring 2002)

"The main reason as to why I like The Art Institute is because when I first came here, everyone, from faculty to students, was helpful and made you feel right at home the day you first set foot into this wonderful school."

- Bernita Nana, Zimbabwe (Interior Design, Spring 2004)

"I like to cook, and I want to be a chef. For me, there is nothing I could ask more than to have a responsible, caring, sincere, knowledgeable tutor, and The Art Institute has those. That's why I am here. I think what really makes a difference as an international student is the best international student staff. The advisors keep all international students as a family and are always there when we need them."

- Naurah Gakim, Malaysia (Culinary Arts, Winter 2003)

"The reason why I chose to be in this program is because I like being creative - to create and invent - and all this is made possible by our group of talented and creative faculty members. Being in the United States and studying here is just a once in a lifetime experience, and I've decided that I'm going to spend it to the fullest."

- Don Vito Goh, Malaysia (Graphic Design, Summer 2001)
