Dani Irwani
Multimedia & Web Design, 2002
When Dani Irwani flew from Indonesia to Atlanta to study in the United States he was looking for a degree related to business and computer technology, but he also wanted to express his artistic side. After researching several schools, he chose The Art Institute of Atlanta because of its excellent reputation for combining art, technology, and business. After graduation, Dani volunteered as a computer graphic designer for Northpoint Community Church in Alpharetta, Georgia, where he created some animated graphic and text presentations for their Sunday worship service announcements. He then gained enough experience to relocate successfully to Los Angeles, California, where he worked as a freelance reporter and accounting staff member for SPIRIT Indonesian Magazine, which is distributed coast to coast throughout the United States. The focus of the complimentary magazine is to offer helpful information to those relocating to the United States from Indonesia; articles focus on faith, values, motivation, health, business, and achievement as well as relocating issues. In January 2005, Dani was promoted to executive editor and accounting manager and is now responsible for news editing, accounting, and supervising the monthly publication's design and layout.
Dani says his ultimate career goal is to own his own business, and that the most important things he learned while at the Art Institute of Atlanta are professionalism, quality, and striving for perfection. He advises current students to learn as much as they can while in school and tells recent graduates in multimedia and Web design that there are still many opportunities in the field.
