The New England Institute of Art Library, located in the Student Center Building at Center Campus, provides students, faculty, and staff with a welcoming and comfortable facility for research, study, and learning. The library offers its users a full array of resources oriented towards the creative, professional and academic programs offered at The New England Institute of Art.
All disciplines in the college curriculum are supported by the library's collection of books, periodicals, DVDs, videos, music CDs, CD-ROMs, DVD-ROMs, Software CD-ROMs, Sound Effects CD-ROMs, CD-ROM games, e-Books, and online database subscriptions. In addition, there are twenty computers and two listening and viewing stations for student use. Library resources may be searched online from the library website at http://lib411.aisites.com/. Many of the online databases have remote access capabilities allowing them to be fully searched from students’ homes and off-campus locations.
Library staff members are available to assist students with their information and research needs. Services include reference and research assistance, library instruction, interlibrary loans, and a reserve collection of required course materials. Library instruction sessions introduce students to effective research methods and to the vast resource options available to them. Interlibrary loans are available through the MetroWest Massachusetts Regional Library System and with walk-in borrowing privileges at the 15 academic institutions of the neighboring Fenway Library Consortium.
During the academic year, the Library is open 66 hours a week, Monday through Saturday, to serve the information needs of the college community. The Library Reading Room is open all hours on the same schedule as the Center Campus building.
