The Certificate in Website Development is a mid-level program geared toward participants who already have basic design skills but wish to explore a more creative application of these skills and upgrade their professional abilities. This program will teach participants how to employ their skills in the creation of effective and distinctive Web site design and implementation. Instruction will focus on the technical aspects of Web design including media integration, Web authoring tools, and interface design. Courses will provide industry-specific instruction with an emphasis on the current practices. Faculty is comprised of industry professionals who are able to introduce participants to processes and technology most relevant in today's industry.

Courses
Courses are hands-on and each participant will have access to an individual terminal. Classes will meet one evening per week and are scheduled at times convenient for working professionals. Both Mac and PC labs are available for out-of-class work. Certificates are comprised of five modules and 100 contact hours. Continuing education units are awarded, and at the completion of a program certificate, participants will be awarded a Certificate of Completion.

Objectives
Although employment assistance counseling services are not available, the skills attained through the Certificate programs will provide participants with a creative edge and enhanced marketability that can be used to change career directions or be applied to current positions and industries. The Certificate programs will also prepare students for advanced studies as well as elevated abilities in entrepreneurial endeavors and private projects.

Admissions Requirements
Participants in the Website Development Certificate are required to have a fundamental working knowledge of software applications on a Mac or PC platform and to have worked in a professional capacity for at least two years. Direct industry experience is not required. In addition, participants in this Certificate are required to have proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
