Digital Audio Production
The Certificate in Digital Audio Production will introduce participants to the fundamentals of digital audio and is designed for musicians and audio enthusiasts who wish to enhance and elevate their technical and creative skills. Participants will be taught the concepts of sound theory and digital audio theory to enable personal and professional growth using digital audio workstations. Course content is focused around students becoming proficient in the use of Digidesign's Pro Tools (TM) recording and editing system. Faculty members are experienced professionals who can update participants on current industry demands and practices. Pro Tools classes are held in a hands-on lab environment which allows each student time to work on individual workstations. All work culminates in the creation of an individual project that draws from the skills attained throughout the Certificate course.
Courses
Courses are hands-on and each participant will have access to an individual terminal. Certificates are comprised of four modules combining sound theory and hands-on Pro Tools application. Certificates are comprised of a total of 100 contact hours. Continuing education units are awarded, and at the completion of a Certificate, participants will be awarded a Certificate of Completion.
Objectives
Although employment assistance and counseling services are not available, the skills attained through the programs will provide participants with a creative edge and enhanced skill set. The Certificate programs will also prepare participants for more advanced studies as well as elevated abilities in entrepreneurial endeavors and private projects.
Admissions Requirements
Participants in the Digital Audio Production continuing education programs are required to have a fundamental working knowledge of software applications on a Mac or PC platform and have worked in a professional capacity for at least two years. Direct industry experience is not required.
