What you need to know about Online Classes
If you are interested in registering for online classes, the following information may help:
Online classes are 5 1/2 weeks in length. Therefore, the workload for any course is almost tripled since you will be completing it in less than half the time as you would an on-ground equivalent class. There are two online sessions during each semester. You may take online classes during either session or both, up to four total online classes (two per session).
Online classes are interactive. Students engage not only with the lecture materials, assignments, and readings, but also with each other, through focused, facilitated discussions.
Each online course is presented in an asynchronous format. This means that you won't have to attend classes at a specific time of day - you can log in whenever it's convenient for you, as long as you meet the attendance requirements of participating in class five out of every seven days. A portion of each course's grade is related to this attendance requirement. If you are dropped from an online class because of your attendance record, you will receive an "F" in the course.
