Transfer Students
Transfer Student Application Requirements
Transfer students must complete the following in order to enroll:
- Have a personal interview. Students are required to meet with an Assistant Director of Admissions. A telephone interview can fulfill this requirement under certain circumstances. The purpose of the interview is to assist students during the transfer process.
- Complete application for admission, including essay.
- High school transcript or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) test scores. The admissions committee gives preference to students with a 3.0 (B) average or above. Transcripts should be mailed or faxed directly to the college.
- Official transcripts from each college attended, showing all courses attempted. Transcripts may be mailed or faxed directly from the college(s) attended to the admissions office at The New England Institute of Art.
- Portfolio: Portfolios are required only for students applying to the Media Arts and Animation Program.
- Include a $50 non-refundable application fee with the application. Click here to apply to now.
Students considering transferring to either another location in The Art Institutes system or an unaffiliated school are responsible for determining whether that school will accept their credits. We encourage the student to make this determination as early as possible. The New England Institute of Art does not imply, promise, or guarantee transferability of its credits to any other institution.
Programs offered by one location within The Art Institutes system may be similar, but not identical to programs offered at another campus within the system. This is due to differences imposed by state law, use of different instructional models, and local employer needs. Therefore, if students decide to transfer to another location within The Art Institutes system, not all of the credits earned at The New England Institute of Art may be transferable into that school's program.
