At The New England Institute of Art, we believe in Financial Planning, not just Financial Aid. From the moment of application, a team of admissions and financial aid staff will work together to facilitate your experience.

By working with both the student and the family, we can provide a payment plan that allows you to budget for your entire program, with monthly payments as affordable as possible.

The Planning Process
At the time of initial enrollment, you'll work with a financial aid officer and will develop a financial plan to meet related expenses. The New England Institute of Art is eligible to offer its students the opportunity to apply for several types of aid available.

Financial Aid Awards
Student Financial Services can advise on applicable deadlines for financial aid awards. Please note: federal and state government aid programs are contingent upon legislative appropriations, and are subject to change. The Student Financial Services Department will notify you if your plan has changed. Continuing students should be aware that the federal and state eligibility criteria are periodically reviewed and modified.

How Federal Aid is Awarded
When you complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and indicate The New England Institute of Art as one of your school choices, we will be able to receive an Institutional Student Information Report (ISIR) electronically. The ISIR will contain an Expected Family Contribution (EFC). The EFC is determined by a set federal formula and relates to the amount that you (and your parents, if you are a dependent student) might be expected to pay for direct and indirect costs for one academic year. The EFC, in relation to your costs, is used by The New England Institute of Art to determine your eligibility for "need based" aid.

Determining Dependency Status
If you can answer "Yes" to any of the questions below, you will be considered "independent" for the purposes of federal financial aid, and your parents will not need to answer the parent questions on the FAFSA.
