The certificate in Digital Video Production will focus on the fundamentals of video production from concept to completion using digital video production tools such as Final Cut Pro, Inspiration and Motion. Students will explore effective, time-saving video production techniques including hands-on training with the latest digital cameras to produce professional quality video for broadcast and corporate production. This program was created to serve the corporate video markets as well as supplement training to existing broadcast video professionals in television and production studios.

Course work will be comprised of media and critique, including peer review of assignments, student writing and research projects as well as individual and group production assignments/projects. In-class work and homework will be assigned.

Courses
Courses are hands-on and each participant has access to an individual computer. All classes meet once per week. Certificates are comprised of four modules. Certificates are comprised of a total of 100 contact hours. Continuing education units are awarded and at the completion of a certificate, participants will be granted a Certificate of Completion.

Objectives
Although employment assistance and/or counseling services are not available, the skills attained through the programs will provide participants with a creative edge and enhanced skill set. The Certificate programs will also prepare participants for more advanced studies as well as elevated abilities in entrepreneurial endeavors and private projects.

Admissions Requirements
Participants in the Digital Video Production Certificate program are required to have fundamental working knowledge of software applications on a Mac or PC platform and have worked in a professional capacity for at least two years. Applicants are also required to have basic proficiency in Adobe Photoshop. Direct industry experience is not required.
