Recover New Orleans

RE-COVERING NEW ORLEANS

Over the last two years, Gloucester artist Jeffrey Marshall has been traveling to New Orleans, creating large-scale drawings onsite in the Lower Ninth Ward, documenting the ongoing tragedy caused by Hurricane Katrina. As a former New Orleans Public School teacher, Jeffrey felt compelled to contribute to the recovery of his beloved former home. These drawings are a reminder that New Orleans is still in crisis. The drawings are part of a 10-year project made possible through the support of both corporations and private sponsors, including The New England Institute of Art, where Jeffrey is an Assistant Professor of Drawing in the Graphic Design department.

Gallery Hours:
