THE WAT WE GET BY

Thursday October 2, 2008

The Coolidge Corner Theatre 7 PM

The New England Institute of Art is proud to inaugurate its Rough Cut series with special work in progress screening of "The Way We Get By" by award-winning filmmakers Aron Gaudet and Gita Pullapilly

This documentary chronicles three "Maine Troop Greeters," who volunteer their time to greet US troops at the Bangor International Airport as they head to and return from war. Since March 2003, these greeters have met almost 700,000 troops. For the elderly greeters, this social network is the first step in confronting their own personal battles as they learn to say goodbye to what they love the most.

You'll get to meet the filmmakers and share your thoughts on their ROUGH CUT.

The screening will be followed by a conversation about the film and its creation, and how an independent film can use Social Networking as a key platform for marketing and distribution. Panelists include: Gita, Aron, Tim Jackson, Associate Professor of Digital Media & communications, The New England Institute of Art and Anna Callahan of Superindiefilms.com.

Please join us for this unique opportunity to support independent film and share in the conversation.
