President Stacy Sweeney Honored Chosen as one of Boston's "40 Under 40"

Stacy L. Sweeney, the President of The New England Institute of Art, has been selected for inclusion in the sixth annual list of "40 Under 40" by the Boston Business Journal (BBJ).
Sweeney, 38, a Town resident, has been at the helm of the Brookline-based College since September 2002. Since her arrival, the private college, that is part of The Art Institutes system of schools, has made the transition to a four-year college, offering Bachelor of Science degrees in Audio & Media Technology, Graphic Design and Multimedia & Web Design, and Associate in Science degree in both Broadcasting and Audio Production as well as certificate programs in Digital Graphic Design and Web site development.
The weekly business newspaper BBJ, recognizes "the vigor and razor-sharp intelligence of (the) honorees (and) holds out promise that the region will continue to lead," said George Donnelly, the editor of BBJ. Recipients represent the fields of academia, real estate, the law, nonprofits and life sciences.
Sweeney swas chosen from among more than 200 nominees and will receive her honor at a special event on Thursday October 30. The selections were made by a team of editors that assessed each nominee's influence on industry and local business. Also important were contributions to the civic health of Greater Boston through volunteer work and other forms of philanthropy.
Sweeney was similarly honored by the Phoenix Business Journal for her work while President of The Art Institute in Phoenix.
