MM250 - Producing Interactive Media
Instructor: Anne DeFelice

Goal: The objective of this course is to teach students how to plan and produce interactive CD-ROM and web-based multimedia projects. Topics covered include planning a project, creating digital images, integrating sound, and coordinating media assets.

Assignment: Create a “musical instrument,” using interactive buttons to allow the user to play the sounds for the instrument. You do not need to create a traditional instrument, or use traditional “notes” as the sounds. Make
at least 5 buttons that play 5 different sounds. Create your instrument so that several sounds can play simultaneously, by selecting different audio channels for each sound. Include a button to stop each sound individually. Make sure each sound is not larger than 200 Kb. To make the buttons, use built-in behaviors from the Library palette or create Lingo scripts. Make sure the instrument’s buttons also provide visual feedback to the user when the cursor rolls over them, such as a new cursor, or graphic.
