MM420 - Interactive Project Management
Instructor: Tom Gentz

Goal: The course covers four areas of expertise:
1) Marketing theory - - reading and class discussion, case studies, written Marketing Plan built on a weekly basis. After the course, you should be able to prepare a written marketing plan.
2)
Presentation Skills - - theory and "Hands on," you will present your own individual Marketing Plan using PowerPoint. After the course, you should be able to present a marketing plan using PowerPoint and feel comfortable on how to present and control the audience.
3) Training Skills - - theory and "Hands on," you may partner with one or more classmates with your training. After the course, you should be able to train a new associate on how to use software.
4)
Sales Skills - - theory and hands on, techniques to persuade someone to your way of thinking and get them to commit to doing business with you. After the course, you should be able to understand the basics of sales and how you might use certain sales techniques in a sales situation.

Assignment: The final project consists of preparing a Marketing Plan that incorporates the following areas:

o Designed Cover
o Executive Summary
o Marketplace - who will buy my product or service
o Demographics - - where I will locate my business and why
o Competition - - using a SWOT Analysis, the competition is analyized
o Team - - who will be needed to make the business succeed
o Timetable - - what are the key dates that must be met to bring the project to reality
o Budget - - when will I break even and begin to make money
