In the Associate in Science degree program in Broadcasting, students will learn to operate radio and TV equipment and will be taught the essential skills of radio video production and TV broadcasting from announcing and videography. From producing a quality product and bringing it to market, with assignments built around real-world broadcast and video production situations, students will be shooting, writing, and editing a TV news story or producing a music video under deadline. Students can choose to work on the new student-run Web radio station that operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

General Description
The New England Institute of Art offers an Associate of Science degree in Broadcasting that also includes General Education courses. The degree program lasts two academic years and contains 61 credit hours, including 27 credits in General Education.

Method of Instruction
Instructional methods at The New England Institute of Art include lecture, demonstrations, labs, one-on-one tutorials, and periodic examinations. Except for internships and field trips, all instruction is conducted in a classroom setting.

Graduation Requirements
To receive an Associate in Science, you must complete a minimum of 61 semester credit hours with 21 credit hours in General Education courses with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher. You must also receive a passing grade or credit for all required course work, meet portfolio or other requirements, complete a 120-hour internship or Capstone project outlined in the student handbook, and satisfy all financial obligations to The New England Institute of Art.
