Digital Filmmaking & Video Production Facilities
The New England Insititute of Art currently operates a multi-camera television studio. In this studio, students learn all facets of studio production, including directing, camera operation, lighting, audio, editing, switching and on-camera performance as well as producing and script writing.
Students also execute field production projects with specialized field equipment. An additional digital nonlinear editing facility offers an alternative to analog tape-based postproduction access.
Videotape can be digitized and edited onto a computer timeline with great flexibility on AVID and Final Cut Pro. Students also learn and practice digital effects, computer graphics and 3D animation.
Student Access to Studios
Access to production and recording studios is an essential component of the educational process at The New England Institute of Art. The college emphasizes consistent and regular student access to all studios beyond the scheduled class hours. Studio operations personnel are available to assist students during access periods. Specific access rules and regulations are published periodically by the College.
