Nora's House: What To Bring

Here are some tips on what items to pack. We recommend speaking with your roommate about this to avoid bringing multiples of something!

  • Power strip with surge protector

  • TV/VCR/DVD player
  • Kitchen utensils (pots, pans, plates, glasses, silverware, etc.)
  • Cleaning & bathroom supplies (toilet paper, Kleenex, paper towels etc.)

 Items NOT to Pack:

  • Extension cords
  • Multi-outlet adapters

When does Orientation start?
Orientation begins on Friday, September 3, 2011.New students move-in date is Thrusday, September 2, 2011. Returning students move-in on Monday, September 5th.
 
When do classes start?
Classes begin on Thursday, September 6, 2011.
 
Where do I get my mail?
Each student has a mailbox located on the first floor of the building.

What about telephone calls?
Each residence hall room is equipped with one phone jack. To activate phone service, students may call the local provider, Verizon, to arrange for services at their own expense. Students living in double rooms may share a phone.
 
Does the College provide network services and e-mail?
All residence halls are wired for high-speed network connectivity. Through the network you may access the Internet and email. You will need a 10/100 – base – T network interface and an Ethernet cable to connect to the network. More information will be available for students during orientation. All students have free New England Institute of Art (NEiA) email accounts and Internet access through the College network. Students are required to check their NEiA email accounts as this is one of the primary forms of communication to students.
 
Where can I do laundry?
There are laundry facilities located in the basement of the building
 
Is there a gym?
There is a small workout room located in the basement of the building
 
Is there a bike rack?
Yes, there is a bike rack located in the basement of the building.
 
Is there parking?
No, there is no student parking at the Nora’s House apartment location.
