Studios & Labs

The New England Institute of Art straddles the Boston-Brookline line, sharing the vitality of a major city, with neighborhood warmth. The College occupies three buildings that open onto a plaza where students, faculty and staff interact.

The main entrance is located in The Gallery on the Plaza, our public art space that displays the work of students, faculty, local arts groups, individual artists and traveling shows. From graphic art to sculpture and award-winning video, Gallery shows attract a wide audience.

Students who study at The New England Institute of Art work in laboratories that are equipped with both MAC and PCs and in sound studios that house digital consoles, editing and recording equipment. They produce work that is shown in display cases, distributed through the Naked Ear record label, or shown at film and video festivals. The New England Institute of Art is no longer open 24/7.

Between classes students can meet and relax in the lounge, catch up on their favorite television programs, or just enjoy each others' company. A conveninently located supply store will be the place to buy books, the latest logo wear, a card for most every occasion or a good novel.
