Web Design & Interactive Media Facilities
The New England Institute of Art boasts nine computer labs. The labs contain Hewlett Packard and Apple computers. They are running on a 100 Megabyte LAN with full T1 access to the Internet.
The Microsoft Office Professional software suite is used to teach all students the applications of word processing, spreadsheets and databases. Internet access is also available for in-class use and individual research.
The PC-based labs are both a teaching site and a work center for sources including:
- Web Design and Development
- 3D Animation
- Computer Programming
- Web Site Management
Our Apple G4 and G5 workstations are host to a variety of courses including:
- Usability
- Web casting
- Digital Video Production
- Audio for Multimedia
- Interactive Authoring
- Digital Compositing
These labs are complimented by flatbed scanners, CD-Rom and DVD-Rom recorders and video projectors. All of the lab's computers are connected to the College's T1 Internet access line.
All labs are open for student access and project work when classes are not occupying the rooms.
