College-Sponsored Housing Information
Q. Where can I find information about college-sponsored housing?
A. You may check off interest in college-sponsored housing on your application for admission. You may also enquire about housing through your Assistant Director of Admissions or by contacting the Student Affairs office at 1-800-903-4425, extension 4468.
Q. How do I apply for housing?
A. Once you indicate to Admissions, or to Student Affairs, your interest in applying, we will send you a Housing Packet which contains the Housing Contract, Housing Emergency Form, Roommate Questionnaire, Regis College Technology Ethics and Privacy Agreement form, and Information on What to Bring to the Residence Halls.
Q. What if I need help, or have questions or concerns about the Housing Packet?
A. We would be happy to work with you to address any questions or concerns you may have. Simply contact Student Affairs at 1-800-903-4425, ext 4468.
Q. What information is provided in the Housing Contract?
A. The Contract provides you with the most important details of your housing, including the term of your occupancy, meal plan information, refund policy, security deposit, information about damages, early termination, subletting, parking, utilities, rules and regulations, and much, much more! It is imperative that you read the contract fully, then sign it, chose a meal plan, and mail it back to the college.
Q. How do I secure a space in housing?
A. By submitting the completed Housing Packet, including the: Housing Contract, Housing Emergency Form, Roommate Questionnaire and Technology Ethics and Privacy Agreement form, as well as a non-refundable $400 non-refundable housing deposit, we will add you to the housing list for a space on a first-come, first-served basis.
Q. Are there any circumstances under which I can get my deposit refunded?
A. The $400 housing deposit is non-refundable unless the student is not accepted or we are unable to provide the student a space on move-in day.
Q. If I am over 18, do my parents need to sign the contract?
A. Yes. Unless you are financially independent according to the Federal Government's Financial Aid Guidelines, your parent or guardian must sign the contract.
Q. What are the dates of the occupancy terms?
A. Students must signup for one of the following terms:
- Nora's House Apartments: Fall/Winter/Summer semester(s): September - August ( 3 semester )
- Nora's House or Domitilla Fall semester (Only for Students Graduating in December)
- Nora's House apartments: Winter/Summer semester (Students starting school in January)
- Domitilla Hall: Fall/Winter semesters: September - May (2 semester agreement)
- Domitilla Hall: Winter/Summer semester: January - August (2 semester)
- Domitilla Hall: Summer semester: May - August (4 months)
Q. What is the price of housing per semester?
A. Semester Housing Cost:
- Nora's House Apartments or Domitilla Hall: Deposit: $400
- Single Room, Domitilla Hall (if available): $5,000.00 per semester, per student
- Double Room, Domitilla Hall: $4,250.00 per semester, per student
- Studio Apartment, 2 person, Nora's House Apartments: $4,850.00 per semester, per student
- 3 bedroom Apartment, 2 persons per bedroom, Nora's House Apartments: $4,850.00 per semester per student
Q. If I wish to live in the dorms, do I have to select a meal plan?
A. All students living in college sponsored housing at Domitilla Hall must chose from one of the following three meal plan options.
- 10 meals/week plan: $1400.00 per semester
The 10 Meal Plan allows students to eat 10 meals per week at the Regis Cafe, whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Included with this plan is a $250.00 Dining Debit Card which can be used at the Commuter Cafe.
- 14 Meal/week plan: $1,300.00 per semester
The 14 Meal Plan allows students to eat 14 meals per week at the Regis Cafe, whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner. There is no Dining Dollar Debit card with this plan.
- 19 meal/week plan: $1,330.00 per semester
The 19 Meal Plan allows students to eat 19 meals per week at the Regis Cafe, whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner. There is no Dining Dollar Debit card with this plan.
B. Students Living at the Nora's House Apartments are not required to have a meal/grocery plan but may choose one of the following:
- $40.00 Weekly Grocery Plan: $600.00 per semester. Weekly $40.00 Shaw's Supermarket Card which can be used at the 1065 Commonwealth Avenue location
- $60 Weekly Grocery Plan: $900.00 per semester. Weekly $60 Shaw's Supermarket Card which can be used at the 1065 Commonwealth Avenue location.
Q. How long will it take me to commute from Regis to The New England Institute of Art?
A. The commute between The New England Institute of Art and Regis is 11 miles and takes about 40 minutes. Students are provided with a LINK T Pass for use of the Green line as part of their commute. This T Pass is also valid for use on most subway and bus lines into Boston and surrounding communities. Visit www.mbta.com for further details on Boston's subway system, or call Student Affairs.
Q. How long will it take me to commute from Nora's House Apartments to The New England Institute of Art?
A. The commute between The New England Institute of Art and Nora's House Apartments is approximately 4 miles. Students are not provided with an MBTA pass. Many students choose to bike or walk to the main campus while other students purchase an MBTA pass of their choice.
Q. How will I know if I am accepted into housing?
A. Once we receive you completed housing packet, you will receive verification in the mail as well as move-in information. If you want to know your housing status, please contact Student Affairs at 1-800-903-4425, ext 4468.
Q. May I come and take a tour of the dorms?
A. Of Course! Tours Schedules will be posted by the first week of each semester. Between semesters please contact the Admissions Department at 617-582-4543 to request a tour. Please give a least a few day notice so we can do our best to accommodate your request.
Q. How will I know what is appropriate or inappropriate to bring to the dorms?
A. Inside your housing packet, you will find detailed information about what to bring as well as what not to bring. If you have any questions about items not on this list, give us a call!
Q. When will I find out who my roommate is?
A. Roommate assignments will be given out as soon as possible. You will be notified via mail who your roommate is, as well as your room number prior to moving in. For students starting college in September, Room and Roomate assignments are usually provided in late July.
Q. If I already know someone I want to room with, may I request that person?
A. Yes. You may request to be placed with a specific person. As long as that person also agrees to the arrangement, the Resident Life Coordinator will do her best to fulfill your request, though no guarantees can be made.
Q. Are the housing facilities co-ed?
A. Yes. The dorm is co-ed by floor and rooms are the same size. The females have a side of the floor, whereas males have the opposite side of the floor. The Nora's House apartments are co-ed by floor, apartment sizes vary slightly dependent upon location in the building.
