Financial Aid: Forms You'll Need

Take Advantage of Our Expertise

Once you've been accepted as a student, you'll receive an enrollment packet that contains financial aid applications and directions. For the quickest financial aid application method, you may apply online at www.fafsa.gov. Have questions during the process? Contact a financial aid officer to help you with your application.

How do I apply for financial aid?

  1. Complete and return a school admissions application.
  2. Upon application acceptance, you’ll get an enrollment packet containing the appropriate financial aid applications, the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), additional forms, instructions on completing these forms, and other information. For the fastest and most direct method, we recommend applying online through “FAFSA on the Web” at www.fafsa.ed.gov or through the school’s Web site.
  3. Complete the financial aid application forms. If you are completing the paper FAFSA, return it to us. If you complete the FAFSA on the web, the school will receive an electronic document with your information about one week after you complete the form. If you have questions, contact one of our Financial Aid Officers. Upon receiving your forms, we’ll review them using the standard federal system process to determine your eligibility for financial aid. A Student Financial Aid Officer will work with you and your family to devise a Student Financial Plan to help cover your educational expenses. This will be based on financial aid eligibility and family circumstances. Our Student Financial Plans make a big difference in helping you to complete your education.
  4. You must reapply for your financial aid eligibility each year. Application deadlines are announced each year during the Winter Term. Our Student Financial Services Department is always available for students and parents. We will help you when you first apply and when you reapply for financial aid. If you have questions, you can call the school’s Student Financial Services Department. Some forms are also available on the Internet through Online Services at MyAiCampus.com.

Which forms should I fill out?

Application forms are available in the school enrollment packet, which may include, but are not limited to:

  • Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
    (also available at www.fafsa.ed.gov)
  • List of lenders and a Federal Stafford Student Loan application
  • “Pre-approval form” for the Federal Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (FPLUS), available to parents of dependent students
  • State supplemental forms (where appropriate)
  • The Art Institutes Merit Award application (if appropriate)

Will I be able to start class on time?

They may take some time to process, but if your aid applications and forms have been properly submitted, the school can credit any anticipated aid to your student account. This allows you to defer costs covered by financial aid until the aid is received and start school on time. You must reestablish your financial aid eligibility (and reapply) each year. To expedite the process, apply online whenever possible.

Payment Plan Options

The Art Institutes offer low-interest payment plan options that enable payments to be made on a monthly basis while attending the school. Our Financial Aid Officers review payment plan options with students while reviewing their financial aid awards to help identify the best possible combination of financial resources to meet their needs.
