How To Apply
As a prospective student seeking admission, you must be a high school
graduate, hold a General Education Development (GED) Certificate, or have
earned an associate’s or higher degree from an accredited institution of
postsecondary education. You must submit a transcript as documentation. You
will write an essay (approximately 150 words) telling us how you think The Art
Institute of Charlotte will help you reach your career goals. High school and
college transcripts also will be evaluated. High school seniors who have not yet
graduated should submit a partial transcript indicating their expected
graduation date
All applicants are evaluated on the basis of their previous education, background, and
stated or demonstrated interest in Culinary Arts, Fashion Marketing, Graphic Design,
Interior Design and Interactive Media Design. Portfolios are welcomed, but not
required. Applicants who have taken the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or American
College Test (ACT) are encouraged to submit scores to the Admissions Office for
evaluation.
When there are no transfer credits in English and/or math to be considered,
The Art Institute of Charlotte assesses the incoming student’s abilities.
Students who need additional support to successfully complete college-level
English or math courses will be enrolled in appropriate developmental studies
offered by the school.
