College Partners with Greater Chicago Food Depository for Week of Service

The Illinois Institute of Art - Chicago Students, Faculty and Staff Gear Up for a Special Assignment in Support of National Week of Service

Chicago, Ill - Students, faculty and staff from The Illinois Institute of Art - Chicago, are teaming up on a special assignment that will promote goodwill and valuable support to their community during National Week of Service April 19-25, 2009.

The college is partnering with the Greater Chicago Food Depository, collecting food and personal care items on campus. On April 21 and April 22, The Illinois Institute of Art - Chicago students, faculty and staff will sort food at the Greater Chicago Food Depository, located at 4100 W. Ann Lurie Place in Chicago, from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

"Participating in the National Week of Service complements our campus environment of serving our students and serving the community where we live and work," The Illinois Institute of Art - Chicago President John Balester Jenkins said.  "Giving back to the community is always the right thing to do and we are proud of the work and support our faculty, staff and students have put into this important effort."

The Illinois Institute of Art - Chicago is no strangers to community service. Since its inception, the school has been actively involved in community outreach with many not-for-profit organiztions.
