Prospective Students
The Career Services Department at The Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago prides
itself on helping students and graduates find appropriate jobs for all different
stages of the education process. This included helping students get part-time
jobs while in school, industry part-time and internships later in the educational
process and entry-level, industry-related positions upon graduation. Besides
helping students get connected with appropriate jobs at great companies, Career
Services invites employers to discuss how our students’ and graduates’ skills
can best be used by their organizations.
If students need extra money to make ends meet, Career
Services is here to help. We have two Student Employment
Advisors who utilize a network of local companies that
depend on students as part-time workers. These companies
attend school-sponsored part-time job fairs and recruit
the talented and trustworthy students of The Illinois Institute
of Art-Chicago. As students progress in their programs,
they will be ready to apply for industry part-time work.
Career Services can help students get that first taste
of the industry through our employer contacts.
Our industry contacts are a vital component to the mission
of Career Services. We invite local professional organizations
to campus for regular meetings with faculty and students.
We coordinate the SIGGRAPH job fair, one of the largest
gatherings of computer graphics and interactive media professionals.
And, our staff maintains membership in a variety of industry
organizations throughout the area to stay updated on the
latest trends.
“Working with the Career Services Department, I’ve
discovered that they not only work with you because it’s
their job, but they work with you because they want to
help you.”
