Financial Aid: State Financial Aid
Ohio College Opportunity Grant Program (OCOG): This program, which provides need-based tuition assistance to Ohio students from low- to moderate-income families, is a result of the merging of the Part-Time Instructional Grant and the Ohio Instructional Grant, with the intent to increase access to higher education. By raising the current household income ceiling of $39,000 in the OIG program to $75,000 in the OCOG program, more families will receive aid for their efforts to gain higher education. The OCOG award amount is based on the Expected Family Contribution (EFC). The Expected Family Contribution (EFC) measures a family's financial strength, and is used to determine eligibility for federal student aid during one school year. An EFC is based on the processing results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). [learn more]
Ohio Instructional Grant (OIG): Through this program, Ohio residents enrolled in a degree program may receive an award to apply to their tuition costs. The amount of the award varies according to family income and a variety of other determining factors. Awards are calculated on the basis of the information provided on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) filed each award year by the student. [learn more]
Ohio War Orphans Scholarship Program: This program awards tuition assistance to children of deceased or severely disabled Ohio veterans who served in the armed forces during a period of declared war or conflict.
