Career Services
Our programs are designed not only to help you develop your creativity,
but to make you marketable to employers after you graduate. Academic departments
host guest speakers, supervise classes, and keep you apprised of employment
opportunities with professionals in the industry. Career Services will encourage
you to enter your work in competitions, volunteer your time to complete extra-curricular
projects related to your field of study, and to network and learn by attending
seminars and workshops.
We will help you with career planning as you enter The Art Institute
of Ohio - Cincinnati , complete your program of study, and graduate.
Career Services is designed to help you get started in your chosen
field by providing assistance and relevant career advice. One of
the department's major functions is helping you obtain part-time
employment while you attend school. During upper-division quarters,
emphasis is placed on gaining field-related part-time jobs and
securing freelance work in relevant areas of study.
Our Career Services advisors regularly conduct research to gain
insights in all areas of business as they relate to our various
programs. Our advisors respond to employer needs and trends and
guide students as to what is happening in the industry that they
are preparing to enter.
At the end of each quarter, The Art Institute of Ohio — Cincinnati
sponsors a portfolio review for graduating students. Employers
from the area and around the country are invited to review portfolios
and interview graduates. Graduating students can meet and interview
with prospective employers both on and off campus.
From helping you obtain part-time work while attending school,
to actively supporting your professional job search prior to graduation,
our faculty and staff is committed to ensuring that you get the
individual support you need to develop a portfolio and résumé showcasing
your abilities to employers. By participating in career placement
coursework, you will learn how to network with professional contacts,
effectively market your skills, and negotiate a starting salary.
Although The Art Institute can offer no guarantee of employment,
the Career Services department works hard to cultivate employment
opportunities and to match job leads with qualified graduates.
Additionally, The Art Institute offers some freelance job opportunities
where qualified students can receive valuable experience while
working for local clients.
