Designers Statement
“Life is better with art in it.” Without art, the world and life itself would be rather boring and dull. The world is so much more alive with all of the artistic talent that people bring to today’s society. For me, art is a very important factor in my life and in my future career plans. With art I can express myself in any possible way that words sometimes cannot. Although I do not plan on entering the graphic design program, I still hope to be able to put my designing skills to the test in the Visual Effects & Motion Graphics program. I want to enter this program because I feel that I can express myself not just with still images, but also with stunning effects and objects in motion. As for the design concept of my poster, it’s very simple: Life is better and brighter with art in it. I chose to portray life and art being in a box as one and bursting out with color, while the rest of the poster has little color. By together as one I mean that art and life being placed in the box means that without art a person can’t live and without living a person can’t have art. The box being in the hand is meant to portray that if a person has art in their heart and soul, then their life will be filled with joy, color and excitement. Hence, the color coming from the box. I also placed pictures coming out of the box to resemble the programs offered at The Art Institutes to show that art can be in many different forms. To me, art is the only pure way of expressing myself, and in the future I hope to share my artistic talent with the world.
