Designers Statement
This piece is a really big symbol for me because it represents in sum total my progress in the past year and a half; I would say it is the closest I will get to putting all of my accomplishments on paper. The headphones represent my individuality. This is significant because I have always tried to fit in, which I have found to be a ridiculous task and I have become my own person. The individual in the piece was drawn from a reference photo of my girlfriend and best friend; I don’t know what I would do without her. The overall piece really sums up the progression of my style overall and I am proud of what I have done.

Graphic design has such a massive appeal to me because of how much one gets to do. There are so many aspects involved and so many skills that are required that I already possess. I love how the job incorporates photography, painting, digital editing and so much more. I have been involved in all things art related ever since the beginning of my Junior year and I can’t get enough. I knew I was going to enter an art related field of study but I didn’t know what. As soon as I heard one of the Graphic Design teachers talk about the degree I was set. The Art Institute is definitely the school for me because I have a lot to offer it and it has a lot to offer me.
