Designers Statement
This piece symbolizes the theme “Life is better with art in it” by displaying the stark, industrial landscape of cold steel and grey skies juxtaposed against the artist’s warm, inviting painting. The artist himself  is being transformed by his imagination. The people in the train yard are depressed and disconnected, while the people in the painting are having a much better time with color, art, music and friendship, because life is better with art in it. The poster is nine different photographs put together in Photoshop Elements 2. (Because my computer cannot run higher versions.)

Why I want to be a graphic designer
I feel I have always had a strong connection with art and love doing it or seeing it. I like to paint, draw, doodle and also mess around on the computer designing and creating in Photoshop. Unfortunately, in today’s modern world, it is very difficult to maintain an acceptable lifestyle while working as an artist, so I chose to direct my efforts towards being a graphic designer, where there is a much higher demand. I believe that as a graphic designer, I will be able to express myself artistically while still making enough money to support myself.
