Designers Statement
My mother has passed many things on to me: her embarrassing fear of spiders, her black hair, her love, and her art. I grew up surrounded by her art and her love for it. Her art is not only her paintings and pottery but in the way she lives her life. I believe that anything, if done well enough can be an art, and the way she cooks and raises her children is as much of an art as her visual pieces. Because of this, I believe that life is not only better with art in it, but life without art is really not one that is worth living. I try to bring this across in my design. My artless world is drab, colorless, and depressing, the only life coming from a cloud that is raining color. I compare art to a cloud because art is like rain, and wherever art falls, there is life.

Apart from the love my mother instilled in me, I love art because it allows me to take anything that life throws at me, even what was once ugly and turn it into something beautiful. I want to study graphic design because it includes a little bit of everything. I love the idea of putting together words and ideas and colors and coming up with a sort of language that anyone can understand. I believe that art, and graphic design in particular, brings us together and I want to be a part of that.
